"NYC buzz band the Cloud Room has a winner with this euphoric song, which has a perfect summer singalong chorus and recalls the glammery glittery goodness of Ziggy-era Bowie. - Salon.com (on "Hey Now Now")

"[Hey Now Now] is a genuinely brilliant single, up there with the Killers' "Mr. Brightside," the Kaiser Chiefs' "I Predict A Riot" and the Decemberists' "16 Military Wives" as one of the great alterna-pop singles of the first half of 2005."
- All Music Guide

"Catchy." - National Public Radio, "All Songs Considered"

"[Hey Now Now's] fit-for-iPod-commercial groove thankfully isn't the only thing working in the band's favor."
- CMJ

"Our fave Brooklyn based indie band..."
- Elle Girl

"...they will probably gain national recognition with their single “Hey Now Now,” which is so deliriously infectious it will take a double dose of penicillin to get it out of your system” - Metro NY

"Lead singer J. of the Cloud Room sounds like a happier Paul Banks of Interpol fame. The comparisons to '80's British post-punkers like Joy Division and New Order are easy to make, but the Cloud Room is also clearly influenced by the dance-rock NYC scene in which they flourished."
- Spin.com

"...melodic pop, synthy bounce and spiky rock with punk's marital rhythms."
- Amplifier

"It seems that a good number of our SubModern hosts have had their head in the clouds over this likeable tune."

Music writers over in Russia call us one of the top ten upcoming CDs of 2005:
Translated excerpt: "The history of TCR is, if you please, one of the most striking examples of the promotional power of mp3-blogs. Now, it seems, it's already difficult to say who first noticed the song 'Hey Now Now' on the site of an unknown band..."

A review of one of our shows from Jenyk.com:
"So I just found out that The Cloud Room is named after a swanky executive lounge near the top of NYC's greatest skyscraper, The Chrysler Building. Helluva source for a band moniker - just about as brilliantly unorthodox and attention demanding as their music - a bumble hip shake non-stop melodic skin and heart churning of a thing - stunningly original and daringly progressive/aggressive. At the helm of this infectious ride is frontman J, who possesses a potentially dynamic stage presence and could possibly pass for the l'il bro of Daddy of Mommy and Daddy - will no doubt grow into more of a prowling stalking fiercer eye of the storm as he plays to consistently larger and larger crowds. As of now - for a relatively new band on the scene he and his mates have charisma to spare, putting on an engaging and on this night theatrical multi-media performance as I as libbed the surf movie The Endless Summer II to be projected behind them. The rolling and crashing majestic grace of the waves behind them - as most karmically harmonious things do - just seemed to absolutely click - rhythms hooks and crests peaking at the same time. Quite an impressive first impression and with the quality of their demo recordings, certainly one that has lasted a damn long while."

What the teens think about The Cloud Room:
"This is by far the most downloaded Friday Five track in the history of the Friday Five. And you know what? It should be. They‘re better than Interpol, Fever, all that new wavy darkness. And this track is like the bomb. It‘s by far their best. Get it now..." - Bolt.com

France rocks. What the French think about The Cloud Room (in translation):
"I don't know where this track comes from (in fact, from Coolfer) but, FUCK WHAT A HUGE THING. Haven't reach the end of it yet, it's already my hit for the month..." - Blogoteque.net

Skyscraper magazine:
"It's quirky and dreamy and sounds familiar enough that it feels like an old friend, yet new enough that everything they sing and play introduces itself like a stranger. It's primitive and kinky and colorful and compassionate in that way you know the Velvet Underground were in their day, and smart and quirky and poetic and shambolic like all those great early Pavement records. It's music made for a city that never sleeps and won't let sad, lousy imitators get away with any shit." - Andrew Bottomley, Editor
